Love the bunny!
Miss Williams brought her bunny in to Rm 11 for a visit. We learnt all about caring for small pets and got to have a little cuddle too!!
St John Visit
We had a visit from St John. They taught us all about being safe and who we need to call if there is an accident. We got to try bandaging each other and Reid and Izzi got to dress as Ambulance officers, it was a lot of fun!!
Our big Term 3 topic is 'Bucket Filling'. This is the concept of kindness towards all others. A bucket filler is someone who may pay a compliment to another or do something kind to fill their bucket. A bucket dipper would be someone who does or says something unkind to someone else. Karekare pod had a bucket filling day where we completed lots of activities to motivate us in our new topic study. This included a walk around our community to see who and what else needs help or helps us, we made our own buckets that people wrote and delivered a compliment into. The day was a great success and we are all ready to be great bucket fillers for our friends, family and community.
We did some creative writing in class. We had to write about where we would go and what would happen if we were on a magic carpet. It was amazing because when we came back from fitness there were all these amazing magic carpets around our classroom!! We hopped on and our imagination took us to many different places. Come in to Rm 11 and read the incredible stories we wrote on our magic flying carpets...

We teamed up with Room 12 to explore some of the things we got taught during our Keeping Ourselves Safe topic. We had to learn and write our address so that we could make a sign for the entry of our house, that we got to create in Room 11 & 12. Our friends were able to come visit us if we shared our address with them and they could locate our house from reading the posters we had made. This was a great follow up and reading activity.
